Privacy Notice

Last updated: October 26, 2026 · This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use and share personal information. We are a Swiss business and also comply with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

1. Who is responsible

2. What information we collect

• Photos you upload, including information stored in them (e.g. metadata such as the date or location, if saved in the file). Photos may show people, personal belongings or addresses – please only upload photos you are allowed to use for this purpose.
• Contact and order details: name, company, email address, phone number (optional), details of the property and your messages to us.
• Payment details: payments are handled by Stripe. We only receive the payment status, amount, date, billing name or business name and billing address and, where applicable, the last digits of the card – never full card details.
• Technical data when you visit this website and the order form (e.g. IP address, browser, time), collected by our service providers for operation and security. We do not use advertising cookies or trackers on this website.

3. How we use it

• To carry out your order: editing, checking and delivering photos; payment requests; re-edits and refunds.
• For payments, receipts and bookkeeping, as required by Swiss law.
• To answer your enquiries and to operate and secure this website and the order form.

Where your photos contain personal information about other people (e.g. occupants or their belongings), you are responsible for being allowed to share them with us. We do not use your photos for advertising or as examples without your written consent, we do not sell personal information and we do not make automated decisions that have legal effects on you.

4. AI editing and service providers

We use service providers who process information on our behalf:

Our providers are located in the USA, the EU (Ireland, Belgium) and Switzerland. Higgsfield’s API terms allow it to use images submitted through its API to improve its models unless the account holder opts out. [Owner to confirm: Higgsfield training opt-out switched on – then replace this sentence with “We have opted out of this.”]

5. Retention and deletion

• Delivery downloads and our working copies of your photos and edited images are deleted automatically 30 days after delivery (unpaid orders: 14 days after receipt). After that we keep only the order number, dates, package and amount for our accounts.
• Your order form submission at Tally, including the uploaded photos and your contact details, is deleted automatically 30 days after submission once the order is complete. Tally keeps deleted entries in a non-public trash for up to 90 days before erasing them permanently.
• Order and payment records are kept for as long as the law requires (usually 10 years under Swiss law).
• Email correspondence is deleted when it is no longer needed.

6. Your choices and rights

You can ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing zugzwangxstudios@gmail.com; we answer such requests whichever state you are in. We do not sell personal information, do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising and do not use it for targeted advertising.

7. Emails

We email you only about your order: the order confirmation, payment requests and the delivery of your images. We do not send marketing emails without your request; any such email would identify us (Zugzwang Studios, Luis Arnold, Oberwilerstrasse 157, 4054 Basel, Switzerland, zugzwangxstudios@gmail.com) and include a working unsubscribe link.

8. Security

We protect your information with appropriate technical and organizational measures, such as encrypted transmission and access limited to the people handling your order.

We may update this Privacy Notice. The version published on this page applies.
